Our Story
After several years design & implement management solutions for one of the world’s top retailer (Delhaize USA), Hoang moved back to Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam from Houston, TX, U.S.A. In Ho Chi Minh City, while working with another retailer in the U.S. (United Supermarkets), Hoang was amazed how technologies have changed the way businesses operate in Viet Nam. Internet-connected devices were everywhere, free Wi-Fi at every coffee shop and 3G were somewhat more popular than traditional ADSL internet connection.
One day he talked to Duy, a local store owner who was frustrated with manual book keeping and the lack of an efficient and fully localized management solution for small & medium retail stores. With his experiences with global retailers and Duy’s understanding of local market, they set out to build a world-class management solution for retail stores, starting with the Viet Nam market…
Simple Solutions Joint Stock Company (S3) was founded on May 2012 with a simple goal: to build a web-based point of sales and inventory management solution for small and medium retail stores.

Hoang Nguyen is an accomplished & resourceful tech leader with many years of experience driving business-critical web-based applications.
Prior to S3, Hoang co-founded Sysnify, a Houston-based startup that built Online Circular platform for 50+ stores of United Supermarkets in Texas. Before that, Hoang lived in Houston, Texas for 10 years, working for BP and many other tech companies and was recognized for consistently delivering projects on schedule and under budget for several Fortune 500 companies (BP, HP, American Airlines).
Hoang is currently based in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. He loves to swim, is passionate about new products and technologies, and still codes.

Duy Nguyen is a sales & marketing guru with more than 10 years of experience in Viet Nam retail market. Duy can sell anything he puts his mind to and his dream is building a machine that can sell things even faster than himself. Not a techie but Duy can always explain difficult technical details in very simple manner, thus maintaining good relationships with customers.
Prior to S3, Duy was founder of Nextgen.vn, one of the most well-respected brand of video game retail in Viet Nam. Before 2009, he was Business Unit Leader in Integrated E-Solution, a start-up focused in IT projects of Vietnam Government.
